What Happens in Vegas..I'm telling everyone - What we learnt at Microsoft Inspire 2018

Microsoft Azure, Azure

Last month The City of Lights hosted 17,000 guests from 132 different countries for the annual Microsoft Inspire event. 5 of our key execs went along to find out all the latest from Microsoft and what to expect in the future.

Described as the definitive event of the year, the 4 day-long conference is a brilliant opportunity to hear directly from Microsoft leadership. The company describes itself as ‘on the threshold of a new frontier’ of technology with a final goal to use this new, innovative technology to help address some of the biggest challenges faced by businesses today. The message closely aligns with what we do at ANS to help UK businesses digitally transform so they are able to make smart business decisions.

In his compelling Corenote speech, Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella, spoke of the Azure platform and all its features from the public cloud to Azure Stack, to Azure Sphere with a focus on AI and IoT that are built into many Azure services. He also talked about the importance Microsoft places on helping and supporting businesses with digital transformations, noting that we are all part of one ecosystem in which we can learn from and lean on each other.

It’s no secret that Microsoft UK Partners have been excelling in recent years. Microsoft showed recognition of the UK’s contribution with the presence of Microsoft global executives at the UK session of this year’s MSInspire event. Judson Althoff (Executive Vice President, Worldwide Commercial Business at Microsoft) and Julia White (Corporate Vice President at Microsoft) joined Cindy Rose (CEO, Microsoft UK) and Clare Barclay (COO, Microsoft UK) on stage to acknowledge the success of the UK operation.

After introducing an onshore Microsoft datacentre in 2016, there was a huge market uptake in public sector cloud projects that without doubt led to success in the UK – success that ANS certainly enjoyed a share of and continues to. Judson remarked that businesses are entering into long-term relationships with their chosen cloud service provider and for a Microsoft Partner to excel in these organisations, the latest Microsoft AI tool provides the essential foundations required to achieve this.

As Gold Level Partner of Microsoft, ANS is well-equipped to go above and beyond for our customers. Over the last 12 months, we have won several digital transformational projects, across both public and private sector, using the Microsoft Azure platform. As the UK’s leading Cloud Services Provider, we work closely with our customers to show them that using the Azure platform and adopting AI and ML capabilities will bring data to life. This offers a true digital transformation within organisations, enhances their business models and brings agility to the environment. Not only do we offer the latest, cutting edge technology to businesses looking to digitally transform, we do it with exceptional customer service.

According to the International Data Corporation, technology spend is expected to increase to $1.7 trillion in 2019. As an exceptional Microsoft Partner, ANS is well-positioned to take advantage of this digital opportunity and spend whilst continuing to show customers how to transform their companies. We’re really excited about the coming year, partnering with Microsoft and leading many more companies’ digital transformations.
